RELIABLE ENERGY IS ESSENTIAL FOR BERRIGAN SHIRE COUNCIL

Berrigan Shire Chief Executive Officer, Karina Ewer is committed to developing a fruitful working relationship with Essential Energy. As our Shire grows, so does the need for safe and reliable power for our communities, with Tocumwal identified as a community that needs an immediate upgrade.

“Our Shire is ever growing, yet our energy supply is not currently meeting the demand. Through Council’s collaboration with Essential Energy, we are aiming to ensure that the safety and reliability of our communities’ energy is paramount,” Ms Ewer said.

An exert from the Essential Energy Media Release, released on 7 June 2023, is as follows:

Essential Energy is collaborating with council to consider ways to enable growth through modernised solutions such as battery storage to capture solar exports and improve network utilisation. Essential Energy is also exploring ways to enhance and broaden the towns existing power supply to help reduce the impact of unplanned outages.

Essential Energy thanks customers in Tocumwal for their understanding while we work to deliver these important upgrades.

Council will continue to update the community as more information on upgrades come to light.
