2024 Berrigan Shire Council by-election

A by-election for Berrigan Shire Council must be held as fewer candidates nominated than the number of councillors to be elected at the 2024 Local Government elections. The by-election will be held on Saturday, 23 November 2024.

Postal Voting

Postal vote applications are now open. Apply online or download an application form.

You must vote and complete your postal vote certificate envelope by 6pm Saturday, 23 November 2024 (election day).

Completed postal ballot papers must be received by the NSW Electoral Commission no later than 6pm Friday, 6 December 2024.

Registered General Postal Voters will have their pack sent automatically to their nominated address, week commencing Monday, 28 October 2024, and do not need to apply for a postal vote.


Where do I vote?

Voters at this election can choose to vote:

  • via post
  • in person at an early voting centre
  • in person on election day at our voting centres.

You must vote only once. 

Australians aged 18 and over are required to enrol and vote.

Early voting locations will be open from Saturday, 16 November to Friday, 22 November 2024 (not open Sunday).

Voting centres will be open from 8am to 6pm on Saturday, 23 November 2024.

No interstate voting 

As electors cannot vote outside their council area or ward, the NSW Electoral Commission is not providing interstate voting. Electors who will be travelling and unable to attend to vote in their area can postal vote
