‘A Farming Life’
Wednesday November 29 at 1:30pm - Finley Library.
A local family of farming women and the pioneering founders of the iconic Country Women’s Association (CWA) will be celebrated at a special author event at the Finley Library on Wednesday, November 29.
Best-selling South Australian author Liz Harfull selected the Clark family from Glenbank Farm at Geraki to feature in A Farming Life, her latest collection of stories about rural women. Her previous book revealed the surprising history of the CWA of New South Wales, and was published last year to coincide with the centenary of the organisation.
Liz will talk about some of the inspiring and resilient women she encountered writing both books, including Helen Clark and her daughters Kristen and Donna.
“The central theme of A Farming Life is resilience which the Clarks have shown in spades, even though they are extremely modest about their achievements,” Liz said.
There are a maximum of 50 tickets available at a cost of $5pp. A light afternoon tea will be provided at the conclusion of the presentation.
To secure a ticket please register and pay at Finley library no later than November 15.
